Acupuncture in Austin After Surgery

by | Acupuncture, Health & Wellness

If you need or have just undergone a surgical procedure, you should know that acupuncture can significantly reduce post-operative pain and scars. Surgery can involve cutting the nerves, blocking the circulation in that area, which can cause painful stabbing or stinging sensations as the nerves begin to heal. Acupuncture can help by restoring circulation of Qi and blood, which eases the pain and aids the body in the healing process. Sometimes surgery can include raised scars, as well, which can be decreased by improving the blood flow in the area, since the nutrients to heal you are carried in the blood. Acupuncture is a safe and side-effect free way to relax the tissue that gets knotted up in surgery, and because surgery is hard on the body already, getting acupuncture regularly after surgery is one way to cut back on pain medications that can actually stress the body even more.

Acupuncture is excellent for post-surgical side effects like pain, Pruritis, nausea, loss of appetite, swelling, scarring and dizziness. My Austin Acupuncture and Wellness Center uses an effective combination of acupuncture, Herbs and whole food nutritional supplements  in order to produce the best results in the least amount of time. I’ve often seen my Austin acupuncture patients find some relief within an hour, though I do recommend weekly follow-up sessions in order to monitor and continue the healing process. My Austin Acupuncture and Wellness Center helps people feel better every day, so don’t hesitate to call with any questions or to make your first appointment. We are here for YOU.
